Whether it’s a new solar freezer for the fisherman’s collective in Pestel or a solar generator for your family home in Jean Bellune, Paon Bleu’s MOBILECOM is the culturally specific financial tool you'll rely on to empower local livelihoods and lifestyles
again, and again, and again.
While there are available avenues to finance a car or a home in Haiti, without cash, making smaller but equally important purchases are almost impossible.
By adapting existing technology to Haiti’s culturally specific practices, MOBILECOM uses a modernized digital platform so Haitian locals can access inclusive credit and financial services.
By leveraging technology, investment barriers in Haiti can be overcome with access to financial services that support investments in Haitian livelihoods and lifestyles, that otherwise would not
be possible.
This reality was made clear to us when it came time to buy an inverter for the family home. Despite overcoming various obstacles to achieve a certain level of success in Haiti, not only were we unable to provide enough cash up front for the purchase, but we were also denied a loan from the bank, because the loan amount was too small. In the lengthy process of filtering through contacts to make the purchase happen, the idea for
MOBILECOM came to life.
Powered by Paon Bleu
As a Haitian owned and Haiti based organization for the past 6 years, Paon Bleu understands that speed, access and agility can be the difference between life and death; achievement or failure. By adapting technology to overcome Haiti’s investment barriers and empower culturally specific practices, we’ve not only created an investment practice that can nimbly navigate a developing landscape, but we’ve also established an all-access financial compass that empowers locals to invest in their livelihood and lifestyle; supports existing Diaspora practices; and sustainably achieves social impact at a speed and scale never before seen in Haiti.
